A gunfight left a woman and man injured and a 3-year-old child dead in north Baltimore Friday afternoon, city police said.
Officers were called just before 4 p.m. to the 3600 block of Old York Road, where the victims were shot as they stood on a porch outside of a house.
Police said a car with several people inside pulled up to a group of people standing outside. At some point someone from inside the car opened fire on the group and someone in the group returned fire.
City police said the 3-year-old girl was struck by a stray bullet, and a 21-year-old woman was also grazed by a bullet.
SkyTeam 11 Capt. Roy Taylor reported the 3-year-old was taken to Johns Hopkins Children's Center. The woman was taken to Union Memorial Hospital.
Police said the child died from her injuries. The 21-year-old woman was in stable condition, police said. Authorities said her injuries are not life-threatening.
The third person who was shot was being treated at an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police said they have a vehicle of interest in custody and at least one person of interest in custody. That man was shot and walked into an area hospital.
"I don't have the words right now to tell you how upsetting, how outraged we are. The police commissioner has vowed that this will not be allowed, not be tolerated in our city," Deputy Police Commissioner Jerry Rodriguez said.
SkyTeam 11 video showed detectives canvassing the area for evidence. Police are seeking the public's help to find those responsible.
