A Short Film About A Daughter Who Meets Her Absentee Father After 20 Years...

Sonnet To Sister

"This short film “Sonnet to Sister” is presented byThe Working Class, a broadcast company who does music reviews with their popular show “The Unnamed Music Show” (ironic right?).
In this film the character Jasmine is a writer who uses poetry to work through her pain. She meets her absentee father for the first time in nearly 20 years and he leaves her with tons of unanswered questions including one rambling detail: Jasmine has a little sister.
I took interest to this piece because it is a story being lived by African Americans growing up in broken homes everyday. Check it out and let me know what you think!" - Janae Tru
